District and campus leaders in Gilbert say the change reflects months of planning and input from families, faculty, and students.

"We've put a lot of work into getting this right, and people are already noticing the difference," said Rachel Wilson, program director in Gilbert.

The plan affects roughly 2678 students this year, with additional phases expected over the next 2 to 3 school years. Officials say funding is already in place for the first phase.
